January 6, 2010 - Leaders Across Borders
The U.S. Mexico Border Health Commission (BHC) wishes to announce that the deadline to apply for the new Leaders across Borders program has been extended to January 17th. This program, recently launched during the 6th Annual Border Binational Health Week, is an advanced leadership development program designed for public health professionals working to improve health of communities along the U.S.-México border region.
Applications for individuals and teams are being sought for the initial Leaders across Borders class scheduled to begin in March 2010.
Leaders across Borders is under the University of Arizona Zuckerman College of Public Health’s Southwest Public Health Leadership Institute, which was provided start-up funding by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and has been jointly developed by multiple partners in the region including the BHC, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), the State Offices of Border Health, México’s National Institute of Public Health (INSP), the Colegio de Sonora, and Colegio de Frontera Norte. The BHC outreach offices in Arizona and Baja California are assisting with the coordination of the program.
This announcement may be of interest to border health partners and others in the United States-México border region.
