Dr. Gilberto Montiel Amoroso
Nuevo León Member Dr. Gilberto Montiel Amoroso, Internist, Cardiologist and Intensivist, was named Secretary of Health for the State of Nuevo León on October 2003.
Previously, he taught cardiology courses at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (Technological and Higher Learning Institute of Monterrey).
Dr. Montiel Amoroso received his medical degree from the Universidad de Monterrey (Monterrey University) in 1975. He did his undergraduate studies and social service at the Hospital San José -TEC de Monterrey, where he carried out his postgraduate studies in Internal Medicine. Dr. Montiel Amoroso specialized in Cardiology at Baylor University in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Montiel Amoroso was a founder and pioneer of the Asociación de Medicina Crítica (Critical Medicine Association) and the Laboratorio Cardiovascular no Invasivo (Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Laboratory) in 1988.
