Will Humble
Director Will Humble is one of Arizona’s most experienced and visible public health leaders and managers. He has a wealth of experience and a broad perspective in public health. He is energetic, highly respected as a public health official, and has in-depth experience in communicable disease control, public health emergency preparedness, emergency medical services, environmental health, laboratory management, and public health prevention programs.
He has first-hand experience dealing with new and emerging infectious diseases and has led Arizona’s efforts to strengthen pandemic influenza readiness. Will has demonstrated public health leadership by improving Arizona’s hospital and local health preparedness, initiating a public health volunteer coordination program, supervising special needs population readiness, increasing laboratory capacity, and improving Strategic National Stockpile readiness.
Will has led the implementation of creative new public health initiatives such as developing Arizona’s trauma system, leading the shift to cardio-cerebral resuscitation, initiating a stroke telemedicine network, and developing cardiac care centers.
